Gannet Blog
San Francisco-based Bond is like a coffee table art book. It offers loads of luxe ads from well-known marketers like Dior; noirish fashion shots; celebrity Q&As, and editorial spreads on fancy food, like individual princess wedding cakes, $30-$50 each, from local French baker Miette.

Sustainable Style
If you haven't run across Bond Alternative Wedding Magazine yet, their current issue is a sustainable style must-have and a true guide to marriage in the new millennium. As the only fashion (high fashion I might add) magazine and website to include same-gender and multi-ethnic couples, it offers a fresh and modern perspective on that more than four letter word...commitment. White lace dresses are sparse but stunning Prada and Marc Jacobs abound. Lots of fabulous food, wind, flowers, gifts, and decor. But the icing on this cake is that the issue AND the icing on the wedding cake are all eco-friendly. By Sustainable Sean

Two Brides
I should have looked on Bond’s website where I could actually buy the magazine because I ended up going to 2 bookstores and going home empty handed.

Excuse me, how did I miss this?? Bond is a new magazine that promotes itself as ‘alternative’. The front cover does feature a lesbian couple, a gay couple and a straight couple. Ok, you got my attention. And in their couples section on their website they have the cutest lesbian couple that met through planetout.com!! Like Nat and I!!

Designing Magazines
In fairness, the magazine has a stated focus on interracial and gay marriage, but these interests are overwhelmed by the magazine’s real priorities: consumerism and consumerism with a patina of social-consciousness. But even the magazine’s goals seems rather more mundane than all the editorial self-congratulation would justify. The suggestion that interracial marriage is extraordinary or different is downright offensive—and while a case can be made that same-sex marriage is out of the mainstream in the reddest of red states, it’s hardly a new phenomenon with undefined traditions. Even The New York Times has been covering gay marriage and civil unions on its bridal pages for the last eight years.

Brooklyn Bride
While perusing Barnes and Noble this weekend, I fell upon BOND Alternative Wedding magazine over in the wedding section. Seeing the 3 different covers featuring gay and straight couples, I immediately bought an issue, ran home, and tore in. I think this is the magazine we've been waiting for people!!

BOND: the wedding magazine for the uber-urbanite
For the high-powered, deeply serious, urban movers and shakers among you -- who think moving to Brooklyn means buying a house in the country, and routinely use the term "fly-over states" -- here's the magazine for you!
OK, joking aside, while BOND looks just as pretentious as every other high-fashion magazine, it's content is great -- especially if your wedding is going to break the mold.

I just wanted to post about the new Bond Alternative Wedding Magazine. Its highly stylized, very chic, based out of San Francisco, and totally rad. You can pick it up all over the Bay Area or buy a subscription online.

I recently rambled at length on the problem in a column called “Le Lang of Love” — published in Bond, a brand-spankin’-new “alternative wedding magazine” that features “lesbians” on one of its three debut covers.
